5 Reasons Why You Should Train In The Morning (For Working Adults)
Number 1 - No Traffic Congestion
Let's face it, if you can leave your home earlier than the general population in the morning, you will have a congestion free drive to your training academy. A smoother and faster drive in the morning will save you that much more time compared to the after-office congestion drive. The math simply works better if you get your training done in the morning.
Number 2 - Jump Start Your Metabolism
Working out first thing in the morning helps jump start your metabolism and helps keep it elevated in the subsequent hours. Your increased metabolism will assist in burning more calories after the workout is done and you will continue to burn calories all day long.
Number 3 - Increases discipline
If you know that you have to be at the training academy at 7.30 a.m. sharp, you will discipline yourself to go to bed early. Make it a daily habit and before you know it, the discipline it takes to train every morning will spill over into other areas of your life.
Number 4 - Fewer scheduling conflicts
If you have ever tried scheduling a training session during your lunch break, for example, you would realise how often training has to give way to unplanned or unscheduled work exigencies. And if you plan to train during the nights, those plans might be shelved if you have to pull an all-nigher at the office to meet some urgent deadlines. Instead of missing another training session, plan to do it first thing in the morning.
Number 5 - Willpower Depletion
Every day, in one form or another, you exert willpower. You resist the urge to surf the web instead of completing your assignment(s). You eat healthy when all you actually want is some fried chicken. A growing body of research shows that resisting repeated temptations takes a mental toll. Some experts liken willpower to a muscle that can get fatigued from overuse. If you ever felt that you lack motivation or willpower to train, know that you suffered from a simple case of willpower depletion. The easiest and most direct method of bypassing willpower depletion is to again do your training first thing in the morning and get it out of the way.
